Representing more than three centuries of regional history, our collections include objects, manuscripts, published resources, and photographic archives. CCHS also administers the Chester County Archives , the County's official government records, which are housed at the Government Services Center in West Goshen Township.

The written record of the county’s history, whether created by hand or printing press, can be discovered in the letters, diaries, newspapers, genealogies, maps, books and journals available in our library.

If historic photographs are what you seek, the CCHS collection of over 80,000 historical photographs spans the history of photography from daguerreotypes made in the 1840s to modern color images. CCHS collects photographs of Chester County landscapes, buildings, people, businesses, organizations and events.
