Million Dollar Match Campaign
What is it?
A long time member who wishes to remain anonymous at this time presented the Chester County Historical Society with a $1 million dollar matching gift in May 2009.
What does that mean?
This donor will match any qualifying contribution to CCHS up to $1 million dollars. CCHS submits a match request once each quarter beginning in August 2009 and the donor will continue to match contributions until we reach $1 million dollars.
What qualifies for the match?
All contributions except memberships, event sponsorships and ticketed events.
Why did the donor choose CCHS?
The donor believes that Chester County Historical Society is best able to preserve and tell the stories of Chester County’s history based on the depth and quality of its museum, manuscript, photographic and archival resources.
How will my contribution be used?
CCHS is using your contribution to support its high quality educational programs, to care for its extensive collections and to support general operations.
How will the donor’s match be used?
The donor’s match is being directed toward strengthening our endowment, increasing our visibility in the community, and managing the structural needs of the building.
Can I specify how my donation gets used?
Yes. Any contributor can specify if they would like their contribution to be directed to a specific department, program, endowment or capital project.
How long does the match period last?
We have set a goal to raise the full match by December 2010.
