This dress was worn by Clara Brinton Haines, the mother of the donor. It features a striking voided velvet pattern with pomegranate design. The skirt is ribbed silk and the bodice has gathered black chiffon cuffs, puffed sleeves and a pigeon breasted blouse front that would persist in popularity into the early 1900s.
