Chilling Reality uncovered the deep connections that four Chester Countians – Isaac Israel Hayes, Amos Bonsall, Samuel Entrikin, and Harry Whitney — had with the Arctic. Their artifacts and the stories that go with them bridge this lost past to our current present. This exhibition explained how the Arctic once defined what America was, and how this heritage still defines our relationship to that region.

Our deepest gratitude to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development, The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Heritage Philadelphia Program, the AT&T Foundation, and the 1675 Foundation for their support of this exhibit.
