Discover Ireland: Passport Cultural Series #3

Irish culture will be featured June 20 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Chester County Historical Society.  Harpist and storyteller Joanna Mell and the McDade-Cara Dancers will perform as part of the Historical Society’s Passport Cultural Series. 

Discover Irish culture through the music, songs, and storytelling of Celtic harpist Joanna Mell. 

Mell has spent the last 32 years performing throughout the United States. She sings in English and Gaelic. She performs regularly at festivals and workshops on the east coast and has recorded 6 CDs and published 14 books of harp music. Mell has also been a therapeutic harpist for hospice organizations and hospitals since 1993. 

The McDade-Cara School of Irish Dance will perform traditional step and figure dances.  This troupe is well-known for their award-winning performances in the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The school is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the rich tradition of Irish dancing.

Program admission: CCHS member adult $10, child $5; non-member adult $12, child $7; students with ID $5.

Light refreshments will be served. Galleries will be open to visit the Many Nations| Chester County exhibition, celebrating 300 years of diversity in Chester County!
