Quilts: The Next Layer

Rotation #2 reopens May 2!

More than two dozen different quilts will replace the current exhibit, including more recent acquisitions and some extraordinary favorites that have not be exhibit for some time.  Reaching farther into the past, the Ashbridge family silk quilt represents 18th-century creativity and frugality, containing part of a quilted silk petticoat.  Another is a painted silk commemoration of the local Women’s Christian Temperance Union in the late 1800s.
