Fantastic photograph of the Eclipse of the Sun, 1925

West Chester professional photographer Joseph Belt captured this eclipse of the sun that occurred on January 24, 1925 by making an exposure once every five minutes. This photograph was made on a single glass plate negative. Joseph Belt did his best photography with glass plate negatives, he continued to use them when other photographers had moved to flexible film.

Funeral Photograph Mystery Solved?

When Mary Maloney donated this amazing photograph of a funeral within the Hungarian Community in Coatesville – my first thought was – who is the deceased?  His funeral was recorded with two photographs, one taken probably in his neighborhood and the other at a church.  All the donor knew was that it was a protestant church in the west end of Coatesville in about 1927.
