Welcome to the Southeast PA National History Day Contest

Registration OPENS Monday, January 22, 2018 at 9:00 AM and
CLOSES on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 4:00 PM**

Reminder: There are THREE PARTS of Student Registration--Online Student Registration Form, Parent Waiver Form, and $12 Registration Fee.* Your application will not be considered complete until we have ALL THREE PARTS.

Important: If you have not yet selected which specific projects will advance to the regional contest, PLEASE RESERVE SPACES BY WEDNESDAY FEB. 14 AT 4:00 PM. Register placeholder projects in the categories you will be entering.
 
  • For example: If you are holding a school contest, reserve 1, 2, or 3 separate projects in each category. Register these placeholder projects with teacher, school, and project category information. Type "Placeholder" in the text fields when student information and project title is requested. We will hold places for your students. You can send the parent waivers and registration fees ASAP once you know which students will be competing.

Student Registration Reminders

*New this Year! There will be a $12 per student registration fee. This fee will partially cover the administrative costs of the regional contest. Registration will not be considered complete until we have received the registration, parent waiver, and fee. Checks may be written out to “Chester County Historical Society.” Please include student name in the “memo” section of the check. The checks may be sent or delivered to the Chester County Historical Society-- “Attention NHD Coordinator” 225 N. High Street, West Chester, PA, 19380. *Note--Students from Title I schools can have their registration fee waived. The cost will be covered by some generous NHD donors.

New this Year! We will be accepting a maximum of 3 entries (in each category, individual/group) PER SCHOOL. This means sending us (at most) the 3 best projects from each category for a school maximum of 27 projects. This allows for all schools to have a fair advantage in each of the categories. If one school brought 12 projects, in just one category, it would give that school a large advantage over other schools that also entered that category. Please respect other schools and students by only registering a maximum of 3 entries per category.
